Our Acquisition Criteria

Seeking proven businesses in engineering and manufacturing

We purposefully do not source businesses which are classed as start-ups; instead, we acquire companies that have already proven their worth, and that sit seamlessly in our existing portfolio. Before we consider any enterprise, we make sure it fits our criteria for acquisition:

  • The business owner or shareholders are seeking an exit opportunity
  • The business has matured but wishes to improve its market value or revenue, working with our management and growth strategies
  • There are annual profits of between £500k up to £10 million and the business has a history of stable profitably over a set period (usually three or more years)
  • A healthy market presence in the relevant sector
  • A mixture of regular customers and the ability to gain new custom
  • Existing internal management teams who are willing to stay with the business during acquisition
  • Good recurring revenues over the business to date

Once these benchmarks have been met, we will take a closer look at acquiring the enterprise and identifying what needs transforming, and how we achieve success.
